What the numbers show
ILOSTAT - Labour force survey — Employment-to-population ratio by age, total (15+), rural areas — Value is currently reported for 85 countries. The highest value is 86.9 % in Bolivia (Plurinational State of); the lowest is 29.01 % in South Africa.
The median across all reporting countries is 57.98 %, and the mean is 57.78 %.
The gap between the highest and lowest reporting country is a factor of about 3.
Over the past decade 52 countries rose and 32 fell. The largest increase was in Bosnia and Herzegovina (up 60.4%), and the largest decrease in Zimbabwe (down 35.7%).
