What the numbers show
ILOSTAT - Labour force survey — Share of employment by status of employment, self-employed, rural areas — Value is currently reported for 77 countries. The highest value is 94.2 % in Mali; the lowest is 4.1 % in Belarus.
The median across all reporting countries is 28 %, and the mean is 37.08 %.
The gap between the highest and lowest reporting country is a factor of about 23.
Over the past decade 19 countries rose and 57 fell. The largest increase was in Rwanda (up 74.2%), and the largest decrease in Georgia (down 62.6%).
