What the numbers show
ILOSTAT - Labour force survey — Employment-to-population ratio by age, total (15+), rural areas — Male — Value is currently reported for 85 countries. The highest value is 92 % in Bolivia (Plurinational State of); the lowest is 33.85 % in South Africa.
The median across all reporting countries is 66.21 %, and the mean is 66.89 %.
The gap between the highest and lowest reporting country is a factor of about 3.
Over the past decade 45 countries rose and 39 fell. The largest increase was in Bosnia and Herzegovina (up 44.1%), and the largest decrease in Zimbabwe (down 31.4%).
