About this data
This dataset describes the use of goods and services in the economy by product and by type of use, distinguishing between intermediate consumption (use of a product as input into a production process) and various categories of final demand such as consumption, investment and exports. It presents the Use table at basic prices (the price received by the producer or for imports, the value at the border). The Use table is organized in a matrix format: The columns provide information about the type of use and consist of intermediate consumption by economic activity (at the 2-digit level of the International Standard Industrial Classification of All Economic Activities (ISIC) Rev 4, containing 89 industries); final consumption expenditure of households, general government and non-profit institutions serving households; investment or gross capital formation (broken down between gross fixed capital formation, changes in inventories, acquisitions less disposals of valuables); and exports, of which re-exports. The rows provide a breakdown by product (using the comparable European breakdown Classification of Products by Activities (CPA) breakdown). This dataset does not contain the value added block. This is presented separately in the dataset “SUT Use, Value added and its components by activity”. The dataset has been prepared from statistics reported to the OECD by countries in their answers to the annual Supply and Use questionnaire.
